The VH3 vacuum breaker has a special spring actuator, is suitable for
frequent operation, and has a lifetime of 30,000 actuations. Very little
maintenance is required, simply requiring cleaning of the breaker and
lubrication of the rotating parts. Machine layout facilitates inspection
and maintenance, and two stage switch-off trip makes switch-off easier.
In order to solve the problem of longitudinal magnetic field vacuum
quenching pots requiring higher primary breaking speeds, the VH3's contact
springs are designed to be installed in a support frame under the main
circuit; which thus enables elastic potential energy stored when the contact
spring switches on to be exerted directly on the moving conductive rod in
the quenching pot during switch-off.
This model's simple design helps to increase the breaking speed, while
the special guiding device protects the quenching pot against lateral force,
therefore increasing the electric life of the breaker.
